Greetings,
Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best regards, and informs you that it has received the letter of the Union of Saudi Chambers (45505077) dated (11/8/1445 AH), in which reference is made to the letter of the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases “Waqa” No. (1003203) and the date (11/1/). 1445 AH) regarding the Center’s undertaking tasks for the plant quota and its representation of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture system in the International Plant Protection Conventions (IPPC), the body responsible for international standards for phytosanitary measures, and the Center’s aim to modernize international phytosanitary systems and requirements in the Kingdom, including International Standard No. (15) “subjecting Wooden Packaging Materials in International Trade” for plant and non-plant shipments through the Kingdom’s ports as of July 15, 2024 AD. The Center also agreed with specialists at the Ministry of Environment to inform the member states of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and the relevant authorities of the Kingdom’s intention to tighten the application of the referred to international standard to above
