Asharqia Chamber extends its best regards to you and informs you that it has received the letter from the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce No. (45518201/1) dated (19/8/1446 AH), which refers to the letter of the General Authority for Food Security No. (S/10367/46) dated (14/8/1446 AH), which refers to Cabinet Resolution No. (440) dated (24/6/1444 AH), which stipulates the transformation of the General Organization for Grains into the “General Authority for Food Security”, and the approval of the organizational arrangements of the Authority, which stipulated in the third paragraph of Article Four “Coordination with all parties concerned with the food security system, to organize efforts related to the system”, and the fifth paragraph of Article Four “Designing an early warning system for food security in coordination with the relevant parties, and reporting what requires the completion of regulatory procedures in this regard”, and whereas the Authority is working to establish an early warning system for food that aims to monitor and analyze global and local food markets, in order to build capabilities and early preparedness to confront any crises that may occur in global food markets By closely monitoring stocks in the local market, taking the necessary measures to stimulate and encourage the private sector to secure the necessary stocks throughout the year, and developing emergency response plans with the aim of ensuring the availability of food commodities and the ability to bear costs during crises, and where the Authority wishes to circulate to companies operating in the food sector (corn, soybeans, barley, clover, rice, edible oils, sugar). Accordingly, the Union urges those concerned and interested to link electronically with the General Authority for Food Security and nominate a specialized representative to contribute to the exchange of the required data and the electronic linking mechanism within 5 working days from this date, and your specialists can coordinate in this regard with Eng.
