Greetings,
Asharqia Chamber extends its warmest greetings to you and informs you of receiving a letter from the Saudi Chambers Union, number (45101734), dated (24/4/1445 H). The letter refers to a communication from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, number (10231/A), dated (14/4/1445 H). The communication notes the FDA's observation regarding some importers of food products providing Halal certificates from unspecified entities other than the Saudi Halal Center.
In accordance with the Food and Drug Law issued by Royal Decree number (M/1), dated (6/1/1436 H), and its executive regulations issued by the Board of Directors' resolution number (3-16/1439), dated (9/4/1439 H), and considering the regulatory role of the FDA, the Authority emphasizes the mandatory requirement to attach a Halal certificate from the relevant entities approved by the Saudi Halal Center to the documents submitted to the Food and Drug Authority.
