Greetings,
The Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best regards, and informs you that it has received a letter of the Public Transport Authority No. (166/42/1) dated (01/5/1442), in which the letter of His Excellency the President of the Public Transport Authority is referred to No. / 1441), addressed to His Excellency the President of the Chambers of Commerce and referred to in Article (31) of the regulations governing the activity of car rental and rental brokers, which states that (In the event of a disagreement between the parties to the contract as a result of estimating the damages resulting from non-traffic accidents, or Misuse or depreciation. The facility licensed to practice the activity is obligated to estimate the damage to the car through the assessment body approved by the authority, provided that the person who caused the damage bears the cost of the results of the examination and assessment). For accredited residents (evaluation) to qualify technical centers to assess the damages incurred by vehicles of the car rental activity and rental brokers resulting from non-traffic accidents, or misuse or consumption in a number of cities according to the conditions and standards set for the evaluation process.
His Excellency’s letter also included requiring establishments licensed in the activity of car rental and leasing brokers to approve the assessment of damages incurred on rental vehicles through the centers for assessing the damage caused by non-traffic accidents, starting from (11/14/1441) corresponding to ( 5/7/2020), in the event that there is a dispute between the parties to the rental contract of the leased vehicle as a result of assessing the damages resulting from non-traffic accidents or misuse, in the following cities (Riyadh - Jeddah - Khobar).
Accordingly, establishments licensed to practice car rental and rental brokers are required to approve the assessment of damages resulting from non-traffic accidents, misuse, or depreciation of rental vehicles through the approved centers for that.
