The Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best regards and informs you that it has received the letter of the Council of Saudi Chambers No. (42101655) dated (10/12/2020), and referred to in the letter of the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality No. (2443 / P) dated (22/4/1442), which contains an update The technical regulation for electric vehicles, published in the Official Gazette on (5/17/2019), as all the products included in the regulation including (electric vehicles and their accessories, and charging stations) require obtaining a conformity certificate issued by the authority only through the electronic Saber platform, It is also not permissible to import electric vehicle chargers and their accessories into the Kingdom commercially without obtaining the conformity certificate issued by the authority, in addition to adhering to the regulations and legislation followed by the relevant authorities in the Kingdom in this regard.
Therefore, all manufacturers and suppliers are required to obtain the certificates of conformity required for electric vehicles, their accessories, electric vehicle chargers, and their accessories through the Saber electronic platform, and the updated technical regulation can be found through the following link: (http://bit.do/fLJQv).
