The Chamber presents its compliments; this is to inform you that we received the letter of the Council of Saudi Chambers No. (ش.غ-15) dated (1/1/1435) follow-up to previous communication no. (ش.غ/2934) dated (6/8/1434), which referred to the letter of the Ministry of trade and industry (267/5/9/6127/p) dated (24/6/1434) referred to the meeting of the Board of the Saudi Commission for specifications, standards and quality systems (141) and history (12/2/1434).
To the effect that the Council address the Ministry of trade and industry the Append (267/9/1/0), dated (26/12/1434) on the decisions of the meeting of the Board of the Saudi Commission for specifications, standards (141) and history (12/2/1434) including
-Adopting the Saudi standard mandatory modification (2663/2007) (requirements of energy cards and minimum energy efficiency of air conditioners), that the amendment after six months from the date of publication in the Official Gazette of the amendments that were adopted raising the minimum energy efficiency ratio (EER) of air conditioning to the mandatory application of the date (1/11/1434) (7/9/2013).
-Adopting updates and modifies the list of energy efficiency labels for electric appliances and work six months after the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
By nominating it to the Council that the Ministry would as from the date (1/1/2014) market campaigns to monitor the compliance of importers and local factories and shops in applying energy efficiency specification, display card new efficiency on all air conditioners for the consumer and the a/c will be withdrawn for testing to verify compliance with the requirements specified in the standard.
