Asharqia Chamber organized a workshop entitled "Insurance - Contending With Automobile Accidents" that was held on Sunday, May 17, 2009 in Sheikh Hamad Al-Qusaibi Hall in the Chamber's Main Building. Members of Asharqia Chamber's Insurance Committee participated in the workshop along with representatives from Najm Insurance Company and various other insurance companies.
Adnan ibn Abdullah Al-Nueim, the Secretary General of Asharqia Chamber, explained that the workshop aimed to help reach reconciliation and understanding between several insurance companies and representatives of Najm Insurance Company in order to prevent any future problems.
Al-Nueim indicated that the Insurance Committee had agreed in its last meeting that there were a number of issues and topics that Najm Insurance Company is expected to clear up during the workshop.
The workshop also explored solutions to a number of topics of importance to insurance companies such as ways to perform damage estimates that protect the interests of all affected parties in an auto accident, authorized workshops for damage estimates, and suggestions about the best way to utilize the nearest workshop to the accident in order to expedite repairs and replacements. The workshop will also address differences of opinion regarding the replacement of an automobile when the party at fault is uninsured.
