Chaired by former German President Christian Wulff in Asharqia Chamber
Member of the board of directors
of Asharqia Chamber by Faisal Bin Saleh Al Quraishi, stressed the depth of
trade and economic relations between the Kingdom and the Federal Republic of
Germany, referring to the distinctive diplomatic relations.
Al
Quraishi said in the meeting with the VIP German delegation headed by the
former president of Germany and the president of the Euro-Mediterranean economic
cooperation, Christian Wulff, and was attended by Secretary General of the
Chamber Abdulrahman bin Abdullah AL Wabel
and the head of Industry and Trade Mission German Oliver Umas, room Sunday,
January 29, 2017, that the specialities of the elegation is very suitable to
the interests of the Kingdom, especially with the kingdom vision 2030 goals and
initiatives, referring to the specialties of the delegation representing the
key sectors is very vital to the local economy such as energy, water, and
electrical engineering, civil engineering, information technology,
pharmaceuticals, consulting, pointing to a bright cooperation in these sectors
between companies from the two countries especially in the field of energy and
renewable energy.
Al
Quraishi said in the meeting that the products and German technology are very
popular in the Kingdom, particularly in the eastern region, where Saudi German
Office for Economic Affairs contributed (GESALO) located in Asharqia Chamber to enhance the trade relations between the two countries through holding
exhibitions catalogs and meetings between businessmen in the two countries in the Chamber .
He
pointed that the German companies put their mark in the Saudi market, where
currently operates more than 400 German companies in Saudi investments amounted
(according to the General Saudi Arabia investment) of more than $ 8 billion.
For
his part, Wolf said that German companies are ready to provide expertise and
technology, which seeks to achieve the desired goals in achieving the ambitious
vision of the Kingdom in 2030.
Wulff
said that the trade relations between the two countries is witnessing a growing
trend in recent years, stressing the enhancing of the cultural relations and the importance of communication between
people of the Kingdom and Germany, noting that relations have witnessed a remarkable
growth since Germany issued in 2015, more than 74,000 visit visa for Saudi
nationals.
Dr. Hatem Samman of the General Committee
for Investment presented a working paper that shed the light on the General Committee for
Investment Program, which aims to accelerate the competitiveness (CAP) and
making the Kingdom a favorite destination for regional and international
investors, in coordination with various government agencies, which have become
an important part of the national transformation plan .
At the
end of the meeting Al Quraishi presented a memorial gift to the head of the
delegation, Christian Wulff.
