Asharqia Chamber's Small and Medium Enterprise Development Center has organized a training program, the first of its kind in the Kingdom, entitled "How to Develop Your Small Business" in cooperation with the Social Services Unit of the National Commercial Bank. The 10 - day training program will begin on Saturday, June 13, 2009 with 6 hours of training per day.
The program aims to improve the level of professionalism of owners and managers of small and medium enterprises, and improve their abilities and competitiveness. The program will cover several vital topics including: innovative and creative leadership, strategic planning, intellectual property for small businesses, elements of the financial system and accounting, market planing and pricing systems, human resources management, procurement system and supply preparation, credit sales skills, the Saudi barcode system, and export opportunities for small businesses.
According to the Secretary-General of Asharqia Chamber, Adnan bin Abdullah Al-Nueim, the program is aimed at Saudi owners and managers of small and medium enterprises who have a serious desire to develop thier businesses to reach internationally, and those who have a sincere desire to acquire the latest knowledge in the field of finance and business.
Al-Nueim explained that the program is part of the Chamber's strategy to expand its training programs for young businessmen and owners and managers of small enterprises. The program is designed to prepare qualified personnel for the management of small projects and increase their competitiveness on the local and global levels.
Al-Nueim said that the Chamber had recently celebrated the graduation of the ninth class from Asharqia Chamber's training program for small investors entitled "How To Start Your Small Business". The tenth session of the training program will be held in the city of Al-Khafji at the end of this year.
Al-Nueim thanked the Social Services Unit of the National Commercial Bank, the Chamber's main partner in the implementation of these programs, for providing a unique model in the application of the concept of social responsibility by supporting the programs of the Chamber for the owners of small and medium enterprises.
Asharqia Chamber's Small and Medium Enterprise Development Center has recently expanded its training programs and now has five specialized training programs for small investors including: (1) a six-week course entitled "How To Start Your Small Business" That program, which is designed for beginners with investment ideas who want to be self-employed, has been successfully conducted nine times since 2006 training more than two hundred participants. (2) a two week course entitled "How To Develop Your Small Business" aimed at the owners of existing small businesses who have the potential for future growth and expansion or those who face difficulties reaching their potential. This program will begin for the first time on June 13. (3) a two week intensive course entitled "How To Start A Small Tourism Business" aimed only at beginners who have investment ideas in the field of tourism. This program is open for trainees from anywhere in Kingdom. (4) a short three-day course entitled "How To Prepare A Business Plan For Your Small Business" aimed at those who recently managed to obtain loans or funding but have not started the business yet. (5) and finally a two weeks program entitled "How To Run Your Business From Home" aimed at people with special needs and set to begin in next November.
