The Prince of Eastern sponsors the "Logistics Integration Forum 2024" next April
Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdelaziz, Prince of the Eastern Province, sponsors the activities of the 2024 Logistics Integration Forum organized by the Asharqia Chamber on Monday, April 29, 2024. The forum discusses the role of government entities in achieving logistics integration, investment opportunities in logistics and economic regions, and the most important challenges facing logistics regions and ways to address them with relevant entities.
The Chairman of the Chamber's Board of Directors, Badr bin Sulaiman Al-Rizaza, praised the sponsorship of His Highness the Governor of the Province for the forum, affirming that his sponsorship represents a significant incentive for the Chamber to continue implementing its activities and events in service of the business sector in the region.
Al- Rizaza, stated that the forum, held at the Chamber's headquarters, works towards several objectives, most notably achieving logistics integration by unifying the efforts of relevant government entities with the private sector and striving to enhance infrastructure efficiency in line with the developments and growth of the logistics sector. Additionally, it aims to highlight available investment aspects in the logistics sector.
He emphasized that the logistics sector represents an important pillar of the national economy and is the main driver of economic development. Countries work on developing and expanding the scope of logistics activity through various means that support logistics movement, project development, and sustainability. He urged all public and private entities to integrate with each other to achieve the targets of the logistics sector in the Vision 2023 and thus promote the growth of this sector.
Furthermore, Al-Rizaza, emphasized that the forum, attended by various officials, experts, and specialists, provides an opportunity for knowledge exchange and sharing of ideas regarding logistics operations and supply chain management. It serves as a platform for experts and professionals in this field to interact with officials from entities concerned with the development of the logistics sector, to review innovations, identify best practices, and propose solutions within the sector.
He explained that the sector is experiencing rapid and significant developments, particularly in aspects such as digital transformation, the utilization of artificial intelligence technology, and the enhancement of quality and efficiency. These developments aim to ensure effective flow of resources, goods, and services, as well as to coordinate and improve logistical operations.
Al-Rizaza, pointed out that the logistics sector has recently witnessed various advancements, where experts have been able to translate data and analyses from digital technology to achieve better realities in several aspects, including expanding e-commerce, implementing sustainability plans, environmental direction, and innovation in transportation methods. He highlighted that through the forum and its participants, these advancements will be discussed, and the possibility of employing them to serve the logistics sector in the region, particularly in the Kingdom, will be explored.
Additionally, he added that the forum will showcase all the relative advantages of the Eastern Province, being the capital of oil and gas and strategically located among Gulf countries. It hosts several primary and secondary petrochemical industrial complexes, in addition to the presence of industrial cities in Dammam, Jubail, Khafji, and Ras Al-Khair. Its position has been strengthened in supporting the projects of the Kingdom's Vision, aspiring to become a global logistics platform.
