Under
the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, Prince
of the Eastern Province on Sunday (February 26, 2017) the second day of the investment
opportunities forum in the province of Qatif, which is organized by Asharqia
Chamber as the forum agenda includes
holding 15 diverse sessions, including the session of the main spokesman of the
forum, the former
head of Aramco Abdullah bin Saleh Juma, 4 extended discussion meetings, the 12
different investment opportunities on the second day, with the participation of
a number of businessmen from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, and a number of
government officials, after holding three workshops on Saturday (25 / February
/ 2017) on the first day of the Forum
A variety of topics:
The
head of Asharqia Chamber Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al Ataishan, said that this forum, which is held
in the national King Abdullah Hall in Qaddih, is a completion of the first
version, which was held in February of last year, and had achieved positive
results, by shedding light on many issues and topics related to
investing in Qatif, this current forum, held in King Abdullah Hall in Qaddih to
discuss a number of topics related to the present and the future of investment
in Qatif in several fields, most notably: (information technology, alternative
and renewable energy, tourism, heritage and conferences.) also
it discusses topics related to the social responsibility of companies, and the economic
empowerment of women .. He explained that the scientific Committee responsible
of the organization of the Forum has allocated the first day of the forum for
the establishment of a number of workshop yesterday dealing with subjects such as
(business pioneering, human resources, and business development), with the
participation of a number of experts and
specialists from inside and outside the Kingdom.
Al
Ataishan expressed his hope that this forum will be supportive of economic progress
in the Eastern Region in various provinces, including the province of Qatif,
stressing that Asharqia Chamber represented by the Governing Council and the General
Secretariat pay careful attention to its participants in the sections (Jubail, Khafji
and Qatif), believing that this forum is a good chance to discuss and debate
about the worries of the present and the future prospects, and that the results
will be, more favorable to the investor and the citizens in general, in reference
to what was done to the Eastern Region, including the province of Qatif of new
and renewable work fields, and varied investment prospects, the geographical
location of the region, the great economic, trade and history of it.

this regard, Al Ataishan appreciated for
His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, his patronage of the
forum, explained that this patronage will give the forum a more enhancement,
and a new hope for a great success of this forum in achieving its goals including
raising the level of economic activity in the province of Qatif, stressing that
this patronage is further evidence of the government interest in the activities
and the activities of the private sector, and its keenness for the success of
its activities and improve its activities, and this is in the accordance with
the (kingdom vision 2030) aimed the partnership between the public and private
sectors to serve the country and the national economy, and this shows the centrality of the private sector and what
it represents in this sector of the ability for further growth and development
and the ability to participate in the country in handling the heavy burden of progress.
Accordingly,
Al Ataishan added that we are used to the good care and follow up of events
daily activities of the private sector by the Prince, confirming the keenness
and seriousness of the wise government in the care of this sector, and giving more
prospects for work and investment, with such reforms that the country has witnessed and the
progress especially economically.
A motivating investment environment:
Al
Ataishan said that the overall investment environment in the Eastern Province
is in an escalating pace, moving at a rapid pace, given to the endowment in the
region of tremendous natural resources, most notably oil and gas, and the
content of industrial projects and great strategy, and as the province of Qatif
is a part of the Eastern Region so it is also reflected on the economic
situation of the province, may be different from the environment in Dhahran,
Jubail, Dammam and Khobar, but the location between the developed areas in

stressed the importance of partnership between the public and private sectors,
pointing that the forum will witness the participation of a number of experts
and specialists, businessmen and government officials from the Kingdom and the
Gulf, including the participation of women locally
and Gulf, reflecting the true image of the map of investment in the Eastern Region. Reviewing a number of specialized working
papers about the prospects of the economic investment Qatif, as well as offering
some investment opportunities.
He
said that the importance of the forum at this time is being with the time of the launch of Vision 2030 and the adoption
of national transformation program which highlighted the centrality of the
private sector in the implementation of the plans that achieve the goals of
visibility and access to the national transformation required, from here, this
forum and other events organized by Asharqia Chamber will discuss ways of the
performance of the private sector development in present and future. Al Ataishan said that the
organizing committee of the forum is keen to attract speakers and experts who
provide views and ideas that transform by the efforts of the investors, experts
and concerned efforts to value added economic projects, that enhance the position
of the Eastern Region, and the province of Qatif in particular on the economic
map of our beloved country. .
stressing that Asharqia Chamber has been dealing with the new, and is open to
every idea that may add an economic value for the Eastern Region and the
private sector, and that our belief in the vital role of the private sector in
the overall development, and this is emphasized by the vision 2030, which
emphasized the great role that
can be played by this sector in achieving the goals of the vision.
The diversity of the events:
For
his part, the member of theand head of the board of the Chamber, and Chairman
of the work of the province of Qatif branch Muhsen Al Faraj talked about program
of the forum, said that yesterday, the first day of the forum was allocated to
the establishment of a number of workshops dealing with related topics with the
aim of the forum, an uplifted by investing in Qatif such as (business pioneering,
human resources, and business development), with the participation of
representatives of a number of major companies and institutions in the Kingdom
and the Arabian Gulf.
He
said that the main speaker at the forum is the former head and chief executive
officer of Saudi Aramco Abdullah bin
Saleh Juma, followed by a presentation and a working paper titled (business
pioneering) presented by Jamal Al Akkad, followed by a working paper titled (change
wheel) presented by Ahmad Al Abdul Jabbar, and another one titled (investment
solidarity) presented by Abdulla Al Zamil, in addition, three discussions meetings,
the first discusses (investment in tourism) by Dr. Hamad Al Ismail and Abdullah
Al Juhani, and Shafiq Al Saif, and Abdulaziz Al Humaidan), and the second (
investing in information technology) by Khalid Al Sulaimani ,
Ahmed Jabbar, Badi Al Quaisim, while the third discusses the subject of
(renewable energy) by Jamal Kishi, and Luai Abdul Rahim.
He
noted that there will be a video display
for 12 projects of the proposed projects to invest in Qatif, available for
those wishing to enter this field, as the forum witness, private women events,
is the participation of both the former Minister of Oman Social Affairs / D. Sharifa Yahyai that will speak for (Omani
experience in the empowerment of women), and the Ambassador of the World Day of
the business pioneers / Sarah Al Ayed, which will provide a working paper titled
(The opportunities development and economic development), and the spokeswoman
Asia Al Sheikh, who will present a working paper on the social responsibility companies
.. consequently, the women events will witness
a discussion titled (the economic empowerment of women), by ( Duha Al Ibraham, Sarah Al Ayed, Soad Al Hosani,
Anoud Al Rammah).
Al
Faraj concluded by saying that the forum in its second year, will include a
number of important events, which will contribute in the development of economic
activity in Qatif,
For
his part, Hisham Al Saif noted that the investment prospects in
the province of Qatif are promising and useful, and businessmen in the Eastern Region
to the investment interaction in the added value projects that seems
encouraging and motivating, all that assures the success of this event held
for the second time, and makes us more optimistic in more activities that
support the development of economic progress, the country is witnessing in
general, and the Eastern Region and the province of Qatif in particular.
He
said that investment, including industrial, commercial, service, agricultural,
tourism, education and health, therefore
the map in the eastern region are many and varied, the importance of
this forum, which will address a number of experts and speakers and offer a
number of investment opportunities which we hope will be of added value to the national
economy, and contribute to the diversification of income sources, and provide promising
job opportunities for young Saudis.
He
explained that the province of Qatif with an important strategic location being
a link between Dammam (and what it
represents as an administrative and
economic importance) and Jubail (which
is one of the industry castles in the Kingdom), and Ras Tanura (one of the biggest
refineries oil) in addition to the distinctive marine view, and
its great economic history of the,
agricultural and special environment, all of this makes it a good investment
environment for a number of promising
investment opportunities, and a group of small, medium and big projects.

For
his part, Secretary General of Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Wabel said that Asharqia
Chamber is keen for the distribution of its efforts in the areas of the
eastern region, and not focusing only on the center of economic importance in
Dammam and Khobar, so it has a variety of programs in Jubail, Khafji and Qatif,
and this forum, which is held for the second time in the province of Qatif is
one of the many activities by the Chamber, which seeks to enhance the private
sector position in the national economy, and raising the level of its
contribution to the overall development.
Al Wabel said that Asharqia Chamber has shown a great
preparation for the organization of this forum, which will be held over two
days, and through a variety of sessions, some are utterly for women, and some
for men, because the province of Qatif, despite the economic history is
still carrying many promising opportunities that the private sector can
contribute in activating on the ground.
Al

this forum, which lasted for a few months and we hope to culminate their
success and achieve the goals for which this forum was held.
