    The Ministry of Environment is reviewing the new organization to qualify water leak auditors​

    Deputy General Supervisor and Organizational Affairs Unit of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Mishari bin Abdulaziz Al-Fadil revealed that the Ministry is in the process of launching a new center for the efficiency and rationalization of water, and pointed to the multiplicity of the Ministry's initiatives to reorganize the water sector, especially in light of the Kingdom's lack of water resources, Such as a consumption measurement program and a drop initiative to raise awareness of water rationalization, as well as a program to address standards and leaks.
    This came during a workshop organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in cooperation with the Asharqia Chamber, on Monday, December 23, 2019, on the new organization for the qualification of auditors for the exercise of auditing and rationalization of water (leak detection).​
    Al-Fadil pointed out that the qualification comes in two phases, starting with the qualification of companies and institutions and then the qualification of workers, and includes specific criteria both to support professional capabilities and standards of customer service and equipment as well as administrative requirements, stressing that the absence of certified professionals in the market called on the Ministry to launch the new organization for the qualification of auditors.​

    Al-Fadil said that the water system audit is related to achieving the efficiency of consumption and the efficiency of the entire system, including leakage detection, noting that the requirements require companies and institutions to achieve more than 60% of these criteria to obtain the necessary qualification, and a periodic list of companies and the accredited company and institution authorized to practice this will be published Activity while continuing to evaluate the continuous performance of licensed companies.​
    For this part, member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Contracting Committee of the Asharqia Chamber, Hamad bin Hammoud Al-Hammad, said that the Kingdom's water sector has witnessed significant changes witnessed during the past few years, according to an integrated plan in line with the goals and aspirations of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 regarding the water sector, which comes as one of The most essential axes of economic and social development in the Kingdom.
    He pointed out that in front of what the Kingdom is witnessing from the major challenges related to its water resources, programs and initiatives to rationalize water and speed up the treatment of leaks come, stimulating and supporting to achieve our main goals regarding the conservation and sustainability of water resources in the Kingdom, which we must all, whether individuals or institutions that we adopt and strive to achieve
    Al-Hammad said that the Chamber, by hosting this workshop, is aware of the importance of creating an interactive atmosphere between government agencies and the private sector to review and exchange views on the most important items of the new organization to qualify auditors to practice water auditing and detect leaks and to identify the requirements and requirements for granting permission to companies, institutions and employees, and the feasibility of rehabilitation and training for the profession of water audit activity and leak detection.​
