Scottish trade delegation reviewed investment opportunities in the Saudi energy sector
The Secretary General of the Chamber Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-wabil confirmed upon the strong trade relations between the Kingdom and Scotland, especially regarding the sector of oil and gas and renewable energy. Alwabil highlighted during his Sunday 26 January 2014 with main headquarters in Dammam during Scottish trade delegation headed by Dr. Abdulhadi Fawzi, an official responsible for Middle East and Africa by the International Development Association of the Scottish strategic relationship between the two countries, noting the strong presence from Saudi Aramco and Saudi Arabic basic industries (SABIC) in Scotland, especially in the field of research and development. Alwabil reviewed during the meeting organized by the Chamber in cooperation with the United Kingdom trade and investment, the British Embassy in Riyadh has received attention from a number of businessmen in the region who met their counterparts from Scotland, ways to enhance cooperation in serving the parties and opportunities for investment.
Dr. Fawzi said that Scotland is interested in strengthening its partnership in the energy sector, including oil and gas, power generation and renewable energy, the oil and gas engineering companies in Scotland have seen great development in their performance so designated as one of the strongest global supply chains for companies operating on the sea surface and deep water, drilling and down hole tools, asset management and optimization, training, education and efficiency, and shutdown abroad ', noting that Scotland has the expertise in offshore wind and wave and tidal energy, energy storage and conversion, and Scotland-from being House renewable energy-renewable energy production is the goal to achieve 100 percent by 2020, and the goal of reducing emissions to 80 percent by 2050 and at the end of the meeting, Secretary-General of the Chamber Abdulrahman bin Abdullah alwabil has honored the official Middle East and Africa Scottish agency by the international development with Memorial shield.
