His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province inaugurated last night the fifth football tournament for companies. The tournament organized by Asharqia Chamber under the patronage of the Governor in the region will take place from July 22 to August 7 at the Green Hall Stadium in Dammam.
Mr. Abdulrahman Rashed Al Rashed, Chairman of Asharqia Chamber, thanked His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd for his patronage of the tournament. He also praised the Prince for his continued support and encouragement in various activities of Asharqia Chamber. "We have achieved many successes under the patronage and guidance of Prince Mohammad," said Mr. Al Rashed.

Mr. Al Rashed also highlighted outstanding contribution of His Royal Highness Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, General President of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare, for his interest and support in the sports tournament in the region. Chamber chairman also thanked His Excellency Director of the Youth Welfare Organization Mr. Khalid Aqeel, for making the all possible arrangements for the success of the opening session.
Mr. Al Rashed honored a number of sports personalities, who made a lot of sacrifice to promote the sports and to take them to the international levels. He particularly honored His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, former Chief of Jeddah-based Al-Ahly Club in recognition of his great efforts during his tenure in the country's sports arena. Al Rahsed also focused on the achievements and contribution made by Prince Khalid.
Mr. Al-Rashed pointed out that the tournament has been a great success since it is being held for the consecutive fifth time. The tournament has earned a reputation and takes its place in the region's sports map. It is a unique tournament being held in the Holy month of Ramadan.
Mr. Abdulrahman A. Al Wabel, Secretary General of Asharqia Chamber said that the tournament has become a prominent and popular event taking place in the Holy month of Ramadan involving many sports personalities and organizations. Highlighting the dazzling gala opening of the tournament using modern techniques, Mr. Al Wabel added that the tournament would continue to be more popular among the citizens of the region.
