Abdullah Juma, " former" Chairman of Saudi Aramco during "My Experience" evening
Postman whom his passion led to run the largest oil company in the world
The first lesson that I memorized from my mother is that "money leave and education remains"
Achievers only surround themselves with the resilient and successful
"Life is what happens when you're busy with other things" with these expressive words the former President of Saudi Aramco, Abdullah S. Jum'ah began his speech to the business youth and the youth initiators in the East Chamber (my experience) evening.
Bin Juma spoke in the evening organized by the Chamber Tuesday, March 31, 2015 in the main buildeing, which was attended by the Board of Directors member Hakim Alammar and a large gathering of those interested in a set of lessons he learned during his life and the process of study, the first lesson he learned it by heart was from his mother Latifah Khaled AlRasheed –God Bless Her soul, when she said to him: money Leave but Education remains.
The first lesson was his great credit after God in his interest to study and learn a lot about life, that helped expand his knowledge and for being aware of the many skills in various fields of science, such as art and fine music, his motto was that listening and reading materials of high value that the reason behind what will make anyone more aware and informed.
Juma said that he benefited through life practical experience that the failure to achieve some of your goals may be stronger luck strikes, and what God chooses for you is far more better than what you bargained for yourself.
Juma finished his studies at the primary school in the Khobar city and was forced to move to Al-Ahsa province to study in the intermediate School, because in that time Intermediate school has not been opened yet in Al khobar.
Juma Spent his study period between candles and inside the small wooden houses (Alsndqh) and lived difficult and primitive life with his peers in that period, they studied their subjects in the light of candles, and when he finished the Intermediate School he returned to Dammam to complete his high school, and then set off to the American University in Cairo and Beirut to complete postgraduate studies.
Juma said during the evening: I started my life as an athlete, I played as a goalkeeper for a while in one of the clubs and after so much efforts and continuous performance I was able to fill the Goalkeeper in all stages in my school in Al-Ahsa and Dammam and I even reached from goalkeeper in the East schools down to the Qadisiyah Club, and the last goal I received was from Big time player Saeed Ghorab in Taif, and about his interest in science and sport he noted that the education, sports, work and self-education are the most important pillars of life.
About his career said that he worked in a diverse business and jobs at first I worked as a mail courier and then I worked as a commentator for sporting events in the internal Aramco radio, then I moved between tasks and even served as commander of a fire truck, and also as a translator for the bills, saying that he was willing to work unconditionally because the work would provide knowledge in many aspects and teaches us patience under pressures, creativity and innovation.
And about his career within Saudi Aramco he said: he gradually work in the company till he got to the Vice President , then first -Vice and then as president of the company, and I had many stations till I reached this office that teached me great lessons in this area, especially in the leadership quality.
He said that the leadership in its own definition is to influence others ,Commander must have many qualities that can be used in many situations between subordinates , Sometimes he can help them in performing and raise the level of productivity and sometimes helps them to displace their pressures resulting from the ongoing business in addition to the stress a word or a joke that have a significant impact and psychologically influence that is so great upon them , and in the end does not work any team without respect or trust between members, and even human to be successful he should surround himself with the strong.
Juma pointed that the Commander regardless of their knowledge and outstanding performance, he should be modest with his team member so he can work in love with them and achieve positive result and reach his goals because he is just a normal person, but he has the determination and ambition he should withstand the pressure as quality distinguish him from the others, Commander humble wants a team of Tigers.
At the end of the evening, the Chamber board member Abdul Hakim Alammar honored the meeting Guest Abdullah Juma with memorial Shield in the presence of the President of the Young Businessmen Council Mesaed Zamil.
