Jana Center: Supporting 145 projects with more than one billion riyals over 10 years
Asharqia Chamber, represented by the Women's Empowerment Center, organized a meeting of the pioneers of the East, which hosted specialists at the Center for Providing Support for Micro-Projects in which Productive Families are Specialized.
The Executive Director of the Jana Mahmoud bin Muhammad al-Shami Center spoke during the meeting that was held on the evening of Wednesday April 7, 2021, and was moderated by the Vice President of the Young Businessmen Council in the Chamber Najla Al-Abd al-Qadir that the center provides good collective loans to female clients without traditional guarantees in a gradual way until the beneficiary arrives, indicating that the center has succeeded In support of 145 projects totaling one billion and 300 million riyals, within 10 years.
Al-Shami said that the center specializes in micro-projects, where the support phase starts with an amount of 6 thousand riyals and reaches 50 thousand riyals through various support programs, pointing out that the Jana Center was established in 2010 as one of the specific programs of the Sulaiman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Rajhi Foundation for Development Finance, which is a project A socio-economist that provides good loan services to women to establish businesses that guarantee them improvement in their material income and occupy a more effective position in society.
Al-Shami explained that the importance of the center lies in its being an economic project with social dimensions targeting women - especially the unemployed group - and everyone who wants to work and produce, by providing credit services and establishing a culture of productivity and the principle of self-reliance in a way that guarantees self-employment opportunities for them, which contributes to reducing My phenomenon: poverty and unemployment in society, and empowering women socially and economically through effective, meaningful income-generating projects.
For her part, Noura bint Muhammad Al-Khader (Business Development Department at the Center) said that the center's message explains the mechanism for empowering beneficiaries economically and socially to create a development impact by providing financial and non-financial services in accordance with best practices, and from here the need grows to instill a culture of work and production in the community and provide its members with practical experience And technical consultations and providing good loans that help them to start their small and micro projects to contribute to development, and because women in many cases are the only breadwinners and have a duty to preserve the family and provide the necessary life requirements, the need for a center specialized in building productive families with what it provides of financing services and counseling Technique that helps the family to provide a decent living and maintain its social cohesion.
Al-Khader indicated to the center’s specialists who are keen to meet the client in order to understand her circumstances and accordingly provide her with a loan that is commensurate with her capabilities.
