Invitation for using best resources and means in the Eastern Region
In a report issued by the Information Centre of Asharqia Chamber
An economic report issued by the Economic Affairs Sector - Information Center of Asharqia Chamber toincrease the investment in the major sectors of vital important in the Eastern region, and work to develop and raise the economic efficiency of existing activities by providing more infrastructure and necessary services, in addition to the development of the productive base and directing the investment to the untapped sectors and new activities in the region.
The report said: "To achieve sustainable development in the Eastern region they must keep on expanding the production base, particularly in oil and gas industries along with their products, also increase the production capacity for manufacturing, and introducing new products, especially in the petrochemical industry, chemical industries, metal and electrical equipment, etc. ..
According to the report; Eastern region being in a continuous need to increase public education and diversification of services, technical education in order to bring them to the highest international standards.
The report indicated that the region is full of economic factors attraction and compelling investment opportunities, due to the various development programs in the region in the various economic sectors.
As investment opportunities available continuously in the eastern region can be divided into investment opportunities of the ministries and authorities and government companies and multiple other parties, those opportunities are displayed on a regular basis and in many ways.
The report also said that all the plants in the Eastern region, like other regions of the Kingdom to benefit from many of the benefits granted to them by the country, such as the provision of industrial lands with symbolic rent prices, and exemptions for raw materials, machinery and spare parts from customs duties, along with the access to loans, industrial interest-free to finance new factories or expansion of existing factories, and assistance for the export abroad.
In regard with commercial investment opportunities in the Eastern region the report declared that the country had placedmany of the systems and regulations for the business activities in the Kingdom, as the wholesale and retail trade are considered one of the main activities of commercial investment in the Eastern region, where the number of registers until the end of 2008 reached up to 130 447 records .. There are also many investment opportunities in the field of wholesale and retail trade of small and medium enterprises such as: trade in computers and its accessories, electrical appliances, plumbing supplies, paint, electricity, clothing and textiles, industrial tools, and building materials, furniture, home and office furnishings.
The report went on to the healthy strong investment opportunities in the Eastern region as the health sector considered one of the largest health sectors in the Kingdom in terms of size, activity and opportunities.
Moreover; the report noted to a substantial amount of investment opportunities of individual nature, or implemented by individual institutions in small and medium enterprises.
The report mentioned also a number of investment opportunities in the tourism sector, where it is the Eastern region is considered the most important tourist destinations in Saudi Arabia, as flights of tourists coming to the region are around (17.9%) of the total flights in the Kingdom ..
Stressing that the tourism sector in the Eastern region is a promising sector as the investment is a successful option, the fact that the region geographically is close to other Gulf countries getting high imports of the tourism sector.
The tourism projects are many and varied in the Eastern region, including hotel projects and residential areas , , handicrafts, heritage, resorts, outdoor cafes, malls, festivals, conferences, exhibitions, and other tourism projects that are in line with the possibilities of the enormous Eastern Region Tourism.
