Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber Faisal Bin Saleh Al Quraishi, the depth of relations
between the Kingdom and the United States, pointing to the economic and trade
relations, that are growing.
Al
Quraishi said in a meeting with a high level American delegation trade organized
by Asharqia Chamber Thursday, November 17, 2016 in its
headquarters in Dammam chaired by the Undersecretary of the US Department of
Commerce Kenneth Hayyat that the relations between the two countries was sturdy in front of hardships of time since
the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1933. He expressed his hope to continue to achieve more
growth
and increasing trade exchange and holding investment deals between businessmen
in the two countries.
Al Quraishi said in the meeting which
was attended by Board Member Bandar Al Jabri and general secretary of the Chamber Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Wabel and the American consul general in
Dhahran Mike Hanki, that the relations of two countries have witnessed new care and enhancement after the visit of King Salman
bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to America in 2015 n and also the American president visit to the Kingdom
early this year to and from the two countries, pointing to the existing
education and training sector cooperation, as about 125,000 Saudi students study
in US universities and various educational institutions, and expressed his hope
that the number of students will be increasing, especially after so much graduates
have interest in high studies in
the United States.
He
pointed that many American companies that entered the Saudi market recently after
the launch of the kingdom, " Saudi Vision 2030," pointing to the
leading American companies in the
market, such as Dow Chemical, Alcoa, ExxonMobil and Jacobs Engineering, which
started huge new investments in the Kingdom, and said: America
remained the biggest investor in the Kingdom where there are currently more
than 400 mutual project between the two countries with an investment of about $
44 billion,
For
his part, Hayyat said that there is a great potential for cooperation between
companies in the two countries. He
stressed the importance of establishing business relationships between small
and medium companies in the two countries, stressing that this sector has a lot
to offer to Kingdom, especially in the fields of safety, security and
information technology.
According
to recent statistics Saudi imports from the United States increased to 89.7
billion riyals in 2015, compared to 84.7 billion riyals a year earlier, and at
the same time, Saudi exports to the United States are about 80.5 billion riyals
in 2015.
The
delegation represents specialties in machinery and engineering, equipment for
traffic control and observing cameras to protect locations and persons,
security equipment and detection, information technology, data analysis, software
engineering, logistics and equipment maintenance.
