AlKhalidi and Albowali called on German companies to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the vision of the Kingdom 2030.
The value of trade exchange between Saudi Arabia and Germany during the year 2017 was 36 billions SR.
The head of Asharqia Chamber, Abdulhakeem al-Khalidi, said that the German industry and technology are very popular in the Saudi market.
During a meeting on Monday, 9 April 2018 with the director of the German Industry and Trade Office, Oliver Ohms, and in the presence of the Vice President of the Chamber, Hamad Al-Boali, Al-Khalidi stressed the importance of strengthening economic relations between the two countries. He called on German companies to take advantage of the investment opportunities provided by the vision of the Kingdom 2030, especially with regard to the opportunities of technology transfer and resettlement.
In the same context, the Chamber's Vice President, Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Boali opened the exhibition of German catalogs in the presence of a large number of men and women entrepreneurs and the participation of 25 German companies representing various economic sectors. He said that the German business sector has increased its presence in the Saudi market, where more than 200 German companies are operating in the Kingdom. He expressed his hope for further cooperation and benefiting from the existing trading opportunities and facilities offered to investors in line with the vision of the Kingdom 2030. He praised the large roles played by the Saudi-German liaison office for economic affairs at the German embassy in Riyadh, in coordination with the German office in Asharqia Chamber.
Oliver Ohms emphasized that Germany has a lot of industries and technology to offer to the Kingdom, particularly in terms of developing its renewable energy, in line with Saudi Arabia's ambitious plans to build the world's largest solar power plant. He added, "Germany is the world's leading renewable energy technology, with more than a third of its energy currently being produced from renewable energy. Germany is a major trading partner of the Kingdom." He also pointed out that the bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to about 36 billion riyals in 2017. Therefore, Germany becomes the third largest supplier of goods to the Kingdom.
