Al-Otaibi: Industry won't settle without the participation of the private sector
51 contracts is expected for projects in Jubail & Ras Al-Zour with 9 billion riyals in 2011
Chief Executive of Royal Commission in Jubail Dr. Musleh Hamid Al-Otaibi who estimated Jubail existing investments with more than 500 billion riyals, of which 415.16 billion for industrial investments since attracted key industries around 323.95 billion riyals, and secondary industries 27 billion riyals, supporting industries with 4.24 one billion and the rest comes within other investments and projects ..
According to Al-Otaibi, who was speaking at the Chamber Tuesday monthly meeting yesterday 2nd March, 2011 in the presence of the Chamber's Chairman Abdulrahman bin Rashed Al-Rashed and Acting Secretary-General Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Wabel along with a number of businessmen, saying that each Investment of one riyal in Jubail (1) attract five quintuple investmenst, as also for Jubail (2) attracts fifteen times of the investment ..
Noting that Jubail annually produce 64 million tons of basic petrochemical industries, and 1,8 million tons of secondary petrochemicals, , and 10 million tons of iron, and 500 thousand tons of steel products, and 15.5 million tons of refined petroleum products, and 192 thousand tons of flat glass.
Moreover; Al-Otaibi turned on speaking about the Royal Commission in Jubail which attracts 3525 employees, 83% of them are Saudis and labor employment with the contractors companies with 4795 employee, with a saudization percentage of 18%.
He recalled that the special training services provided by the RY for a number of 73 school and kindergarten under a direct supervision by the RY.
Ensuring that the Royal Commission seeks to settle the industry which cannot be achieved without the cooperation of businessmen and private sector institutions ; referring to the investment opportunities available to companies, especially contractors, such as establishing of hotels centers, neighborhoods and so on from other support services.
And in regard of future projects ; Al-Otaibi said there is infrastructure for the third phase of Jubail 2, and development of sites with logistic services, in addition to numerous projects in Ras Al-Zour.
He continued saying that number of planned contracts granted in Jubail with 39 contracts with a cost of 7 billion riyals. As in Ras Al-Zour willbe have 12 contracts this year with more than two billion riyals.
