Asharqia chamber had adopted the small and medium sized businesses sector

Asharqia chamber had adopted the small and medium sized businesses sector, and is ready to cooperate with the new committee 



Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al-Otaishan, Asharqia chamber chairman commended  the decision of the council of ministers to establish a committee for small and medium sized businesses. This committee will have a financial and administrative independence. The minister of commerce and industry will be the president of this committee.  Al-Otaishan described this step as “an important and essential step, especially that its sole consideration will be directed to an important economic sector.”

Al-Otaishan pointed out that this step was needed. Asharqia chamber led the list of the supporters for this vital sector. It supported the government’s efforts in establishing a committee for the small and medium sized businesses, given the vital role for this sector to the national economy.  He expressed his confidence in the committee as a supporter to both the public sector and private sectors efforts, and as an initiator as well. He said that small establishments are essintial because most of the young businessmen start in that sector and then grow to a larger establishment. There establishment play a role in the national economy because they provide products, services and job opportunities. Moreover, that sector will in turn support the governmental entities and the large companies with their activities directed to develop the national economy, such contribution will help these establishments grow, expand and compete.

Al-Otaishan mentioned that Asharqia chamber realized early on that the importance of this sector and thus worked hand by hand with the private and public sectors to develop it and organize activities that help utilize it. Such activates include events and workshop about overcoming the technical, financial and marketing obstacles. The chamber has established the small and medium establishments’ development center, the young businessmen and women council, and AlQossaibi award for the best developing establishment. The chamber has also established “how to start your small business” training program and many supporting programs, as well as the young businessmen and women exhibit and forum. These programs and activities contributed to increasing the number of small and medium sized businesses, the distinct ones had definitely added to the value of the national economy.
