Chamber launches cooperation with the INSEAD Business College, next April
19 the new version of the of the family businesses Governance Forum, and in the
presence of a group of international and local experts specializing in governance
and sustainability of family businesses.
The Chamber launched last year, 2016 transforming
a family business to a stock forum, which concluded to improve the steps on how
to transform family entities to stocks, because of its positive impact on the
continuity of the family business and the system of the national economy as a
whole, while this year forum discussing, according to chairman
of Asharqia Chamber, Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al Ataishan, a range of
topics of importance the issue of governance and institutionalization of family
businesses, most notably the decision, and ways to achieve diversity and
balance between all the powers inside it, as well as discussing the major
challenges facing the application of family businesses in
the field of governance procedures, and other issues related to institutionalization and applications within
the family business.
Al Ataishan, said that this year Forum
comes as a continuation of what was stated last year about the transformation
of the family business, noting that as a message the Chamber is keen to convey to businessmen and owners of family
businesses of the importance of the application of the rules and procedures of
good governance, in addition to providing them with successful experiences in
the application of corporate governance procedures and
generational succession in family businesses around the world, and also make
them aware of the challenges they may face in the future.
Al
Ataishan, said that governance is an essential basis in achieving a safe
transformation, noting how vital the subject of the forum in the internationally
and locally, stressing that the local family business occupies a big place of
the national economy, they are an important channel for attracting local and
foreign investments, and attracting the national workforce, which according Al Ataishan
is enhancing its position in the national economy.
Al
Ataishan, said that the best solution to the sustainability of the family
business, lies in the application of good governance procedures, which depends
in large part on education and awareness, noting the attention given by the Chamber
of interest in this aspect, with the launch of the bulletin «family», launched by the Chamber
represented by Media Department, every three months in order to shed light on
the family business sector locally, regionally and internationally.
He
continued: ( The Chamber did not
stop here but was seeking the advisory programs to intensify cooperation with
the houses of local and international experience, as a consulting family
business, which offers its services free of charge to the participants of the family
business, achieving remarkable successes in providing a map for many companies to
a safe transformation and governance).
