Asharqia Chamber launches its first meeting in the Owners Meeting' series

Asharqia Chamber launches a new initiative titled "Angels Meeting" with the aim of expanding the horizons for owners of family businesses, enthusiasts, and specialists in national experiences and sustainability mechanisms across generations.

The first meeting of the initiative is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 9, 2023, featuring the CEO of Salem Ahmed Balaheem Holding Group, Ahmed bin Salem Balaheem. He will discuss the group's journey towards leadership and continuity across generations, as well as the group's experience in implementing governance and its mechanisms in separating ownership from management.

Badr bin Sulaiman Al-Ruzzaiza, the President of the Asharqia Chamber, stated that the "Owners Meeting" initiative will provide opportunities for family business owners in the Eastern region to learn about successful experiences in sustainability and governance applications. He emphasized the special importance of family businesses as they represent the backbone of the economic life in the Kingdom and the region. This led the Chamber to develop new educational activities to support family businesses in the region.

Al-Ruzzaiza emphasized that given the consecutive changes in the national economy brought about by Vision 2030, which increased reliance on the private sector as a fundamental pillar of growth and development, and considering that family businesses are a key component of the private sector, this initiative confirms the status held by family businesses in the national economy. It aims to familiarize business owners within a realistic experimental framework with best practices in family business governance, all aimed at ensuring the continuity of their businesses in all its forms. It serves as a constant message from the Asharqia Chamber: "Preserving the sustainability of family businesses across generations."
