On Thursday, March 22, 2018, Asharqia Chamber and Qaderoon (a network of business and handicapped persons) in cooperation with Modon administration office and Sawaed Association organized a lecture entitled, "Universal Access to the Urban Environment" at the Chamber's headquarter.
During this meeting, Qaderron showed a presentation on the concepts and standards of the work environment supporting persons with disabilities, which includes the standard of facilities to facilitate access of persons with disabilities to facilities.
This criterion was highlighted in the presentation presented by the founder of the Modom Engineering Consulting Office, Eng. Mukhtar Al Shaibani. The concept of universal access and the importance of its application in various facilities were discussed to facilitate the access of many groups of society, including the category of persons with disabilities. The mechanism for applying universal access to facilities under design, facilities under construction, and existing facilities were also highlighted in the presentation.
This meeting comes at the end of a series of meetings held this month in Jeddah, Riyadh and Madinah. These meeting aimed to raise awareness about the importance of the establishment of facilities and the application of universal access in the public and private sectors.
