Asharqia Chamber participated in an international gathering of powerful and influential cities held in Houston,Texas earlier this month that was attended by the mayors of 14 important cities. Asharqia Chamber was represented by the Chief of its Investment Development Center, Abdul-Aziz ibn Thamer As-Subai'ee.
During the gathering, As-Subai'ee spoke about the role of Asharqia Chamber in supporting investment and development in the Eastern Region. He also explained some of the most important services that the Chamber offers directly to investors and introduced the Chamber's English language website that was recently launched. He also said that Asharqia Chamber will represent the city of Dammam on the Committe of Business and Trade Development formed at the gathering. The gathering formed 2 other committees as well: (1)The Training and Education Committee, and (2) The Committee For Preserving The Atmoshpere of Knowledge and Expertise.
Adnan ibn Abdullah Al-Nueim, the Secretary General of Asharqia Chamber, affirmed the keeness of the Chamber to participate in this international gathering and to support the city of Dammam in attracting investment and increasing trade with all of the powerful and influential international cities.
Such a gathering of cities is exemplary cooperation between the leaders of a number of influential cities around the world with the goal of exchanging information and expertise with the fundamental strategy of helping each of the cities strengthen business initiatives and support powerful business sectors.
The other cities represented at the event were: Houston, Texas, Aberdeen, Scotland, Calgary and Halifax, Canada, Hong Kong and Beijing, China, Perth, Australia, Port Harcourt, Nigeria, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, and Luanda, Angola.
