The Committee for the Strategic Sector of Asharqia Chamber in a meeting on Monday evaluated the results of the first phase of the resettlement strategy for the industry in Saudi Arabia, a project is being implementation by Ackstnscher, a Norwegian company.
The Chairman of the Committee for Strategic Sector, Mr. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Zamil said that the draft strategy focused on the use of international experience in resettlement services and contracts for the energy sector. He noted that the most important features of the first phase of work were to identify barriers that limit the development of resettlement at all levels. The second phase is the implementation of the Action Plan.
Al Zamil said that the benefits of the resettlement program in Saudi Arabia could be wider to contribute significantly to achieving the objectives of diversifying the economic structure, and create more employment opportunities and facilitate the transfer of technology and knowledge in addition to developing the local skills.
He said that the transfer of technology is one of the most key factors for the success of business in the Eastern Province as well in the Kingdom in general. Another essential strategy is to increase participation of the citizens in the projects and use of technology and Saudi capital to the largest extent possible for the development of local trading companies.
