The Asharqia Chamber, through visual communication technology, held Monday, February 15, 2021 AD, the General Assembly's work for the last fiscal year 2020 AD, during which the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khaldi, reviewed the Chamber’s achievements, various activities and services provided to more than 104,000 affiliated business owners, as well as the Chamber’s financial position summary, and the results of the year Financial ending in December 2020, and the operating and capital budget for the current year.
Al-Khalidi said that despite the precautionary and preventive measures imposed by the Corona pandemic last year, the Chamber has moved towards continuing giving and contributing to development and prosperity, in accordance with its mission to support and develop economic and development work for the business sector and work as a platform to enhance communication opportunities internally and externally, by following frameworks that simulate Sophistication, professionalism, quality and workmanship; The room dealt positively with the Corona virus protection measures; On the one hand it stopped its employees coming to work places to protect their safety and the safety of their families, and on the other hand it continued to provide its services remotely through its electronic portal, and launched many initiatives that complement the government efforts to confront the pandemic, amounting to about 11 initiatives, and it continued to present its activities such as meetings, workshops and lectures Virtual, with the aim of continuing to present its awareness message to entrepreneurs from the region, as the business committees held 106 lectures and workshops, 107 committee meetings and 110 work team meetings, in addition to organizing 137 hosting, visits and meetings with officials.
Al-Khalidi revealed that the subscriber growth index increased during the past year by 8.6%, as the number of subscribers whose subscription is valid until the end of 2020 reached 104,942 subscribers compared to the number of 96,634 subscribers until the end of 2019. The electronic services portal as well as the Chamber's centers in Khobar and Jubail, indicating that the total services provided during the past year amounted to more than 140,000 services, and the unified call center and technical support responded to more than 10,000 calls and inquiries during the crisis period, as well as business and activities continued. And business committees and executive councils' meetings remotely using modern programs and technologies.
Al-Khalidi indicated that the last year witnessed the preparation of the Chamber more than 61 studies, economic reports, and specialized working papers, and more than 25 economic reports on trade relations between the Kingdom and several countries, as well as about 18 visuals on various economic topics, and the Chamber's subscribers were provided with more than 4902 An information service, and the subscriber base data represented about 79.6% of the total services.
On the level of legal services and consultations, Al-Khaldi said, the number of beneficiaries of the legal consultations provided by the Chamber to its subscribers during the year 2020 AD reached 423, including 207 telephone consultations, and about 199 consultations in personal presence, 17 consultations were provided by e-mail, and the number of cases reached Arbitration 26 cases and 18 cases were completed, while the number of commercial paper cases (protest) reached (220) cases, 19 cases were completed, and the number of commercial dispute cases was 19, and 14 cases were completed.
Concerning the services of the Asharqia Chamber for Employment Center, Al-Khalidi indicated that last year, the center organized 12 employment meetings in cooperation with several establishments, and the number of job seekers participating in employment meetings reached 1,600 job seekers, and the total number of jobs offered in job meetings was 1637 jobs, and the number of companies participating was In employment meetings 19 companies, while the total number of job opportunities that were offered through the center’s website for the year 2020 in 1410 opportunities, and the number of establishments benefiting from the center’s website services reached 71.
Went on saying, that in support of the training system and rehabilitation was implemented 26 short training program, was also provided 5 diplomas qualifying long, in addition to the implementation of 31 training activity, and the number of training days carried out during the year 2020 about 181 training days and the number of trainees 940 trainees Training Center.
Al-Khalidi pointed out that the Asharqia Chamber has paid small and medium enterprises its attention and attention, and during the past year, it provided about 600 consultations throughout the year between administrative, marketing, institutional and technical consultations, and organized 3 training courses, 2 lectures, workshops, and 16 meetings, as for the services provided. To support female small and medium-sized enterprises, 92 consultations were provided, in addition to 7 training programs and workshops, about 5 induction meetings, and 5 lectures. Young businessmen in the Eastern Province were also supported by implementing two visits and launching 2 initiatives (The Remote Work Initiative - Commission Cancellation Initiative), in addition to Organizing 5 meetings and 4 training programs.
Under the slogan of consolidating development, Al-Khalidi explained that, during the past year, intending to improve the investment structure in the region, the Chamber launched 2 initiatives (Bridging Initiative - the Hospitality and Entertainment Committee initiative to provide free consultations to workers in events and entertainment activities, and it held 2 hosting and 5 meetings (meeting the President Executive at the Royal Commission in Jubail - Meeting with the President of Saudi Aramco - Meeting with the CEO of the National Unified Procurement Company (NEPCO) and the Royal Commission meeting in addition to a meeting of basics and skills in entrepreneurship).
In terms of developing international relations to increase foreign investment, the number of diplomatic and official visits and important personalities to the Chamber in 2020 reached about 8 visits, and the number of trade delegations visiting the Chamber reached 4 commercial delegations, and 4 meetings were organized, and in general the number of Saudi businessmen's participation in International events and events in 2020 about 9 participations (4 joint business meetings - 4 delegations leaving abroad - 1 joint business forum).
After the General Assembly, Al-Khalidi valued the great support of His Royal Highness, Prince, Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Prince of the Eastern Region, for all the outputs of the Chamber, and his constant keenness to take care of the private sector and stand next to it, as well as His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahd Bin Salman, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Region, who always showed positive interaction with the Chamber’s initiatives and programs .. Al-Khalidi also thanked the Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi for his support and interest in the business sector, and to all government agencies and departments and others that had outstanding contributions and fingerprints.
