A U.S. trade delegation will visit Asharqia Chamber on Tuesday, June 2, 2009. The delegation will meet with Saudi businessmen in Sheikh Hamad Al-Qusaibi Hall located on the first floor of Chamber headquarters.
The U.S. delegation is headed by David Maith, the Chairman of the Board for Eastern Trade. He will be accompanied by 15 officials representing 9 companies who hope to find local partners, open up markets in Saudi Arabia and discuss investment opportunities and joint ventures with Saudi businessmen.
The visiting companies specialize in oil and gas, energy, insurance, telecommunications, information technology, petrochemicals, machinery and equipment, as well as water desalination, engineering and contracting.
Currently there are 357 joint U.S. Saudi projects in Saudi Arabia worth 82 billion rials which makes the United States the largest investor in the Kingdom in addition to being its largest trading partner. In 2007, bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to more than 193.3 billion riyals. Saudi imports from the United States increased to 45.9 billion riyals, while Saudi exports to the U.S. reached 147.4 billion riyals.
