The Executive Council of the Businesswomen's Council of Asharqia Chamber selected Maram Al-Jishi as a Chairman of the Board, and Dina Al-Fares as a Vice-President at the meeting that was held on Tuesday 1 May 2018 in the presence of the Chairman of Asharqia Chamber of Commerce Abdul Hakim Bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi.
The votes were collected by secret ballot, as Maram al-Jishi won 13 votes, ahead of Jamila al-Shammari, who won 7 votes.
In the vote for the post of Vice President, Dina Al-Faris received 11 votes, compared to 9 votes for Dina Aljabr.
The President of the Chamber-in a welcoming speech-stressed on the role of Saudi women in the current economic life. He emphasized the Council's support for initiatives that enhance the opportunities for women's empowerment and their contribution to economic development.
