Adnan Urges Irish Businessmen to Consider
Investing in Saudi Arabia
Mr. Adnan A. Al Nueim, Secretary General of Asharqia Chamber, has urged businessmen from the Northern Ireland to look into possibility of enormous investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia particularly in its Eastern Province, which is called the "Industrial Capital of the Gulf".
He was giving an overview of trade and investment opportunities in the Kingdom in a meeting with Mr. Michael Craig, Director of the Northern Ireland Investment Authority on August 3, 2009 at Asharqia Chamber. Mr. Neil Wilson, Second Secretary of the British Trade Office at Al-Khobar, was present on the occasion.
Mr. Al Nueim said that there is bright potential for cooperation between Saudi companies and their Irish counterparts in various economic development projects in the Kingdom. "There are hundreds of mega projects being undertaken in the Kingdom, in which Irish companies have the prospects for participation," he added.
Mr. Craig discussed the possibility of Irish participation in the two-day Chamber- organized upcoming Second National Contractors Forum -2009 beginning on October 27. This mega event will coincide with the visit of a high level Irish trade delegation to the Eastern Province on October 26. The Irish delegation will consist of 20 leading companies engaged in construction, training, industrial engineering and civil engineering sectors.
Mr. Al Nueim stressed the need for reciprocal visit of trade missions between Saudi Arabia and Northern Ireland in order to increase trade and commercial exchanges between the two sides. He focused on the future development of trade under the framework of joint-cooperation program, which was aimed at bolstering trade relations between the two sides.
