3.5 billion dollars Taiwan's total imports
Al-Nuaim launches the Exhibition of Taiwan's Catalogs for machinery and heavy equipments in Asharqia Chamber
Asharqia Chamber Secretary General, Adnan Al-Nuaim launches yesterday the Exhibition of Taiwan's Catalogs for machinery and heavy equipments on 10th of July 2010 which will run for two days from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The Exhibition is organized by the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (Tammy) and held in the Eastern Chamber in Dammam in the presence of Taiwanese Ambassador Dr. Ibrahim Chao and Taiwanese commercial attaché in the Kingdom.
Al-Nuaim explained that the exhibition offers catalogs of more than 80 Taiwanese companies operating in machinery and equipment of various industries, explaining that the main goal of holding such exhibition is to promote Taiwan's machinery and equipment in and to transfer of Taiwanese technology to the Kingdom.
For his part, Zhao believed in the possibility of success of the Taiwanese technology opportunities and Taiwanese machinery industry in the Kingdom in general and in the Eastern region in particular due to its prevailing industrial reputation in the world.
Furthermore; Chao noted that Taiwan's total exports in the fields of machinery to the world amounted more than 11.35 billion dollars in 2009, noting that the Saudi consumption of the Taiwanese machinery is less than 1 percent of the total .
On the commercial level Chao confirmed that kingdom's is considered the fifth largest trading partner of Taiwan in terms of imports in 2009, referring to the lower trade between the two countries down to 9.34 billion dollars due to the global crisis.
However; during the first four months of 2010 ; Taiwan's imports from the Kingdom amounted nearly 3.5 billion dollars, while exports amounted to 243 million dollars.
