15 Arab and Gulf figures of different specialties review
the opportunities for the empowerment of women in the Saudi economy and its
reality and its future in light of the Kingdom Vision 2030, in the «Women
Economic Forum2016», organized by the Asharqia Chamber, patronized by Princess Abeer bint Faisal bin
Turki, wife of the Prince of the Eastern Province, titled ( Saudi women .. the
power of effect to lead the change).
The forum aims, according to the member of Asharqia
Chamber administration, Samira Al
Swaig, to enhance the economic role of women by reviewing the chances of
enabling her in the Saudi economy, and her ability to influence and make change
in the local economic environment, as this environment witnesses major changes
with the launch of the Vision 2030 for exploiting
all the resources the country owns human or natural.
A
huge human cluster
Al Swaig said that the public forum cares for the ways to achieve an
effective and balanced economic partnership between the
woman and her brother, the man in the Saudi economy, pointing that Saudi women count
for more than 50% of the total number of
university graduates, so that they are a huge human cluster that can play an
active role in the economic system if exploited, considering that the public forum
as an opportunity to reformulate the partnership system for women in the Saudi
economy, and in light of the launch of vision 2030, which needs initiatives and programs with the desired
goals.
Al Swaig said that the Chamber is seeking
by launching the fifth edition of the World Economic Forum for women to enhance
the role of Saudi women in economic life, pointing that there is intense and
ongoing preparations by the administrator team inside the Chamber for
the forum, to welcome and confirm students participation of specialists and those
interested in economic affairs in the Gulf region etc, pointing that the forum
will witness the participation of a big number of female Highnesses and a group
of businesswomen and academics and specialists in the Arabian Gulf and Arab
countries.
Al Swaig appreciated,
the patronage of Princess Abeer bint Faisal bin Turki the wife of the Prince of
the Eastern Province this year forum, noting the attention of Her Highness
supporting the progress of women in the eastern region to double their contributions
to the improvement.
For her part, the manager of businesswomen center in Asharqia Chamber, Hind Al Zahid said, The Forum which will be
held in 23-24 November will discuss four main issues, the first discusses: how
to achieve a balanced economic partnership between the sexes, and the second,
is the urge for solidarity to open the way for next generations, and the third
and fourth topics about determining the role of women in the progress
process, and in light of the launch of vision 2030.

stressed that the forum will witness
the participation of some of important speakers, noting that some of them, by
order of the sessions, such as: Dr. Hessa Saad Al Sabah, who will present a speech
in the Arab Businesswomen Council, part of the opening event , also Her Royal
Highness Princess, Modhi bint Khalid bin Abdul Aziz, member of the Saudi Shura
Council, and Her Royal Highness Princess, Adela bint Abdullah
bin Abdul Aziz, chairman of the management Center Khadija bint Khuwailed to
support businesswomen in the Chamber of Commerce and industry in Jeddah, and
Ms. Hind Al Subaih, Minister of social Affairs and labor for planning Affairs
and development in Kuwait, and vice Jordanian parliament, Wafa Bani Mustafa,
and deputy of the UAE Women, Sheikh Majd Al Qasimi, member of the Saudi Shura
Council, Dr. Lubna Al Ansari, and Dr. Mai Al Dabbagh, Department of
social Sciences in New York University in Abu Dhabi professor, Inas
Makkawi, an ambassador. Head of women, Family and childhood administration of Arab League,
Dr. Sumaiya Al Sulaiman, member of the
municipal council of the secretariat of the Eastern region, and Dr. Suad Al
Arifi, the academic in King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, Dr. Faten Al Sari,
manager of women work programs in the Ministry of Labor and social development,
and Dr. Reem Alferian, Assistant Secretary General for businesswomen affairs in
the Saudi Council of Saudi Chambers and Ms. Walaa Nahas a consultant in economic
development, and Dr. Siham Al Swaig, consultant director of Princess Nora
University.
