On Wednesday, February 20, 2019, Saudi Electricity Company discusses and explores issues and challenges facing contractors during a meeting with members of the Contracting Committee in Asharqia Chamber.
The meeting was attended by a number of representatives of the sectors of the company including Sulaiman Bin Ibrahim Al-Hubeishi, Senior Vice President of Supply and Contracts Services, Hamad bin Hamoud Al-Hamad, a member of the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber and Chairman of the Contracting Committee, and all members of the Contracting Committee.
They discussed the mechanism for the training contractors and opportunities for the construction sector in the Saudi Electricity Company, and opportunities for joint cooperation between local contractors and the Company.
Al-Hubaishi said that the company is continuously working to develop and improve its procedures in order to maximize local content in its project contracts as well as through the new Saudization strategy, as a part of its program to build and employ "national" capacity.
The program "bena" is an integrated strategy for the settlement of industries and services started by the company at the beginning of the year 2019 that is in line with the Vision of the Kingdom of 2030 by providing necessary support to national institutions, which contribute more to the process of Saudization.
In addition, Eng. Nayef Al-Bakran, an acting Director of Saudization and Training Department, gave a presentation on the program "bena" that contains three initiatives that effectively contribute to the process of developing local content and supporting small and medium enterprises.
