US stocks fell for the second consecutive session today as energy stocks fell.
At the same time, retail stocks plunged after earnings and expectations boosted worries about economic growth.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 551.8 points, or 2.21 percent, to the level of 24465.64 points.
The Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell by 48.84 points, or 1.82 percent, to reach 2,641.89 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 119.65 points, or 1.7 percent, to reach 6908.82 points.
