Saudi Arabia: Moving to address the «World Trade» issues
The meeting brought producers and exporters together with the Saudi Minister of Trade and Industry
The Ministry of Trade and Industry intends to intensify their activities to address global issues filed against the kingdom and specifically Saudi producers, through the payment of damages or mitigation of cancellation, with the establishment of a specialized center to follow-up with the global trade issues.
Abdulla bin Ahmed Zainal, Minister of Trade and Industry, emphasized the Ministry important cooperation to private sector companies to establish the center, which will be monitoring and analysis and providing data and information.
Zainal during the meeting organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Technical Affairs yesterday has referred to the issues of trade remedies including anti-dumping, countervailing measures, and preventive, one of the most important issues.

Abdulla bin Ahmed Zainal, Minister of Trade and Industry stressed on the importance of the cooperation with private sector companies to establish a specialized center, which will monitor, analyze and provide data and information.
During this meeting, they reviewed the cases of some countries, including Saudi Arabia and consultation on ways to pay damages for the producers, the Saudis or mitigated or eliminated.
Zainal also stressed that the Ministry of Trade and Industry gives a special concentration to these important issues that directly affect the movement and flow of Saudi exports to the outside, as well as damage to Saudi producers internally.
The meeting included a visual presentation by the Deputy Minister for Technical Affairs, Dr Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Kathiri, addressing the new action plan by the Agency under the direction of Minister of Commerce.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Al-Kathiri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Technical Affairs, explained the issues faced by Saudi producers, processors are located in India, China and Turkey, all of which concern issues of petrochemicals, as well as a case in Egypt against blankets factories.
Al-Kathiri pointed to the existence of dumping cases brought by eight Saudi industrial companies against foreign imports, have been raised to the Technical Secretariat for Anti-dumping in the GCC, with the existence of a unified system between the GCC countries facing dumping issues.
He added: 'All nations are seeking in the current period to support foreign exports, with the use of means and ways to protect it, as after that the global crisis all countries tended to protect their economies by raising dumping cases, and the accusation of increased imports, such situation made the Kingdom to face it during the next period, and we are keen to sensitize the private sector in terms of not violate the export regulations of the World Trade
