    Saudi Arabia's non-petroleum exports exceed 18 billion riyals in the month




     


    Preliminary data revealed by the Central Department of statistics and information, the value of non-oil commodity exports from Saudi Arabia in April 2014, reached 18.07 billion, up 0.4 percent compared with the same period of the previous year, while the value of imports fell 5 per cent to 54.36 billion riyals. The interest in her monthly non-oil exports stood at 33.24% of total value of imports during the period, led by chemical products.

    The value of exports of chemical products and related 6.09 billion was 33.74% of the total value of non-oil commodity exports, plastics and rubber and articles thereof second worth 5.7 billion riyals with 31.63 percent, transport equipment and parts ranked third in value of 1.69 billion riyals by 9.36 percent of the total export value. The Central Department of statistics and information said that machinery and equipment, electrical machinery and parts ranked first for imports in April last year worth 13.51 billion riyals by 24.86 percent of the total import value, transport equipment and parts ranked second with a total value of 10.8 billion by 20 per cent, and third in normal metals and products thereof worth 7.17 billion riyals by 13.21 percent. The UAE topped the source States in terms of the value of non-oil commodity exports by 14.89 percent of the total value of exports, second only to China with a 10.41 percent, followed by Singapore at 6.66 per cent. And occupied States United ranked first in terms of imports by 13.63 percent, followed by China at 11.39 percent, Germany by 7.85 percent.
