Rise in Iraqi oil exports to a high record in December
Iraqi oil exportsreachedduring the past monthdailyunprecedented levelsin three decades, according to thereportyesterday byAssem Jihad, spokesman forthe Oil Ministry,which called forOPECto actto meet thelow prices.Jihadsaidthat according topreliminary statisticaloil exportsfor the month of(December)the past,exportdaily ratehasreached2.94 millionbarrels, the highestexportrateachievedsince 1980.
The totalexportsin the same month91.14 millionbarrels,an increase of about16 millionbarrelsforthe amount ofexportsin(November)the past,according tomonthlystatisticsprepared by the Ministry.
According to the "French",although thehighquantity exported, but theoil revenuesreachedin(December)fivebillion and$ 247million, an increase of90thousand dollarsfrom the previous month,due to lowerprices ofa barrel of oilin the world.
Thespokesman forthe Iraqi Oil Ministry,theprice of a barrelaveragedonly$ 57, comparedto $69.5in(November),note that theaverage pricesinthe first months of2014exceeded$ 100 a barrel.
Theaveragemonthly pricefor(December),lowerthan thatset by the governmentinthe draft budget for2015law,of$ 60,andsaw theJihadthattheOrganization of Petroleum ExportingCountries "OPEC",to moveto address this issue,in reference to thecontinued decline inprices.
He said,what he said werecommentsreflect thepersonal opinionand notthe ministryrequiredthat pricesnowfall toabnormalrates,andthe organizationto moveinstead ofwatchingpricesfalterlevelsillogical.
Rejectedthe organizationat its last meetingheldin Vienna on27(November),to maintain theproduction ceilingunchanged,despite the decline inthe price per barreltolevels not seenin five years.
Thissharp declinein prices anda problemfor Iraq, whichmainlydepends onoil exportsto secureimports,andthatthe ministryhad alreadyannouncedin(last November),it has lostmore than27 per cent ofthe projected incomewith low prices.
