Director « Monetary Fund » the decline of crude is « good news » for the global economy
Christine Lagarde the General Director of the International Monetary Fund said that oil prices constitute a ' good news ' for the global economy. ' French ' quoted from LaGarde as saying during a roundtable in Washington: ' there will be winners and losers, but a clear rule, that is good news for the global economy '. Lagarde said ' when we see a decline of 30 per cent, this should translate into a surplus (in growth) by 0.8 per cent in most developed economies, which are all imported oil ', indicating that the view will inevitably be different if spoken in Saudi Arabia or Qatar or Kuwait. She acknowledged that the oil exporting countries ' affected ' by the significant decline of prices, but this effect was calculated for some of these countries.
