Asia precedence on the iron demand with 66%
Economic report: expecting Asia precedence next year by 65% with a global recovery in consumption

An economic report expected Asia to be on top of the global demand of iron and steel with a share of 66.2 percent in 2010 and 65.5 percent in 2011, while some areas will see an improvement in the use of practical use steel during the current year, after experiencing significant declines in 2009.
The report recently issued by the World Steel Union which expected an increase on the demand of iron and steel in the Middle East and North Africa in 2010 to reach 59 million tons, up 8.9 percent, to 62.5 million tons in 2011 by an increase of 5.9 percent.
The report prepared by Ian Krisms, General Director of WSA expected an increase in the use of steel in the practical use of steel in complete products during 2010 and 2011, 10.7 percent and 5.3 percent respectively.

For his part, Mr.Fadi Al Ajaji, an Economic Consultant commented Asia lead in the global demand of iron, where he explained that this was due by the strong growth witnessed in the continent during the last period.
Al Ajaji noted that most Asian countries, especially China and the Gulf countries are living a prosperous period of growth, in terms of upgrading &expanding the infrastructure.
At the same level, the report predicted tan increase in the consumption countries of NAFTA in 2010 to 23.5 percent after a drop of 37.4 percent.
WSA total production of crude steel for the 66 member countries in March 120 million tons for the month of March amounted 30.6 percent of the (World Steel) production.
As for the EU total production, Germany's crude steel output amounted four million tons in the March 2010, an increase of 91.5 percent compared to the same month of 2009, Italy produced 2.4 million tons, up 43.5 percent from the same month of 2009, Spain produced 1.6 million tons steel in March 2010, an increase of 33 percent from the same month of 2009.
The advantage steel production in 66 countries in March 2010 amounted 80.2 percent, which increased in the same period than for the same period in 2009 by 15.3 percent.
Arab steel production during the first quarter of 2010, increased with 21.58 percent compared to the production of the first quarter of 2009.
Most of the increase in the Arab production came from countries such as Egypt, which has produced 11.2 per cent, Qatar, which has produced 87.5 per cent, and Saudi Arabia, 41.8 per cent, Morocco 25.2 per cent.
