A cooperation agreement on nuclear energy between Saudi Arabia and the UAE
King Abdullah city agreed with UAE to start implementing the necessary steps for nuclear energy program, to sign an agreement of mutual cooperation in the nuclear field, check the requirements for nuclear facilities, starting with studies for locating facilities and phases of construction, operation, safety and protection. And today, in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of the Emirate, Dr. Hashim Yamani, President of the King Abdullah city for Atomic and renewable energy, the meeting discussed the cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the field of nuclear energy. Yamani, presented King Abdullah city program for Atomic and renewable energy, the proposal for bilateral cooperation in the nuclear field, which was already approved by the Council of Ministers of Saudi Arabia, and entrusted the responsibility of negotiating and signing the King Abdullah city.
The aim ofthe proposal to thecooperation between the partiesinthe exchange of information, organizingseminars andscientific sessions,andthe exchange of personnelin areas ofthe dyescientificortechnical,the exchange ofnuclear materialsand other materials, equipment andtechnologies,conductstudiesfor determining thesitesof nuclear facilitiesin the border area,construction,and operation.
The two sides agreedto continuethe concerned authorities inthe two countriesset upthe final wordingof theagreement,as a prelude tothe signing.
