«Water and electricity» ensure financial saving 1.4 billion by using value engineering
Abdullah said Al- Husain Minister of water and electricity, said that his Department has achieved a saving of approximately 1.4 financial billion during the last year of 8.8 billion representing 48 projects through the use of value engineering studies. He said during a speech at the opening of the third Forum for value engineering organized by the Saudi electricity company, yesterday in Riyadh under the slogan ' continuous development and application ', with the participation of some 400 experts and interested in value engineering, value engineering application of financial savings would be reflected on the development of the economics of water and electricity in Saudi Arabia.
The establishment of the Forum underlines the importance of the comprehensive concept of value engineering, through the implementation of projects at the lowest possible cost while maintaining the required level of efficient performance without excessive cost or loss of quality. Mohamed Baghdadi Deputy Minister for planning and development and Chairman of the Board said :the Ministry developed a value Engineering Department of engineering value associated with coordinators from the Ministry and its departments, Saudi electricity company and the national water company, which achieved many of the goals and results, notably the training of 2000 trainees, in addition to the study of 28 projects implemented by the Ministry in 1433, and achieved a saving of 32% of the total project cost. Said Ali Al Barrak, CEO of Saudi electricity company to organize the company's Forum is part of their interests in the use of internationally approved scientific methods in planning, studying and implementing projects, stressing the desire of the company to actively participate in all scientific activities and continuously strive to perform the company's mission that is to provide highly reliable electric power at the lowest possible cost.
The company looks forward to working with everyone to deepen concepts of value engineering in the areas of improving electrical systems with rapid scientific and technical developments. He noted that the company is eager to apply value engineering program, explanation of the exponential growth in demand for electricity, which is 9 per cent annually. Sessions began with a working paper on the continued development and practice by Chancellor Bruce Lenz, followed by a working paper on integrating methods of continuous improvement within the machine by the Saudi electricity company, followed by sessions on value engineering applications in Saudi Arabia, and its role in raising the efficiency of the studies, other is about standard designs for water branches buildings, in Riyadh.
